Day 5: Living Free,
Not Looking Back
Daily Reading: Colossians 2:13–14
Devotional Thought:
Paul tells us that before Christ, we weren’t just struggling—we were spiritually dead. But God didn’t just fix our old life; He made us alive with Christ, forgave every sin, and canceled all our debt. What once accused us has been taken away and nailed to the cross.
This means our past no longer controls us, shame has no claim, and guilt doesn’t get the last word. Living free means trusting what God has done and not looking back at what Christ has already taken away. Abiding in Christ keeps us free, as we rest in the finished work of the cross instead of returning to what’s already gone.

Reflection:
- What past failures, sins, or labels am I still carrying that Christ has already nailed to the cross?
- What would it look like for me to live today from forgiveness and new life, rather than from guilt or shame?
Big Idea:
You can live free today because your past was finished at the cross.
Prayer:
Lord, help me live free today by trusting what You have finished and remaining in the new life You have given me in Christ.
