Jeff Robinson

Jeff Robinson is the Senior Pastor at Southside. He is the lead preacher/teacher and seeks to base his messages on a responsible interpretation of the Bible while relating Scriptures to everyday experiences in order to encourage faithfulness with regards to Christian beliefs and practices. He also provides counseling and upon request, conducts baby dedications, marriages, and funeral services.

Jeff is married to Melissa Robinson, our Worship Leader, and has three children, Corrinn, Christa and Davis.

Before pastoring Southside, Jeff served as a youth minister and education minister in churches in Louisiana and Texas.

Jeff is the Discipleship and Ministry Pastor at Southside Baptist Church. He provides leadership training for Southside ministries and oversees our discipleship programs such as our Sunday School and various other discipleship training classes taught throughout the year. Jeff is also responsible for overseeing the men's and ladies ministries at Southside.

Jeff is married to Suzy and they have two children, Emily and Andrew. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1986 and Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary in 1990.

Jeff is currently working on a doctor of ministry degree from Southwestern in missions and evangelism. He has served in churches in California, Mississippi and Texas. He has a passion for helping people grow in their relationship with Jesus. He also likes to build things and watch football. (Texas Aggies, San Diego Chargers and Dallas Cowboys)

Melissa is the Worship Leader at Southside Baptist Church. She is responsible for the planning, development, coordination, supervision, and evaluation of a comprehensive music ministry for the total church. She conducts the choir, directs the praise team and orchestrates the worship band. Melissa is also invaluable to the Worship Dance team and Women's ministries as well.

Melissa is the wife of Pastor Jeff Robinson and the mother of Corrinn, Christa, and Davis. In addition to leading worship at Southside, she teaches music at Kurth Elementary School for the Lufkin Independent School District.

When she arrived at Southside in 1994, her primary "duties" were that of Pastor's wife and support system. In the fall of 1996, while attending a women's retreat, Melissa answered the call to ministry; she believed that God was calling her to lead worship at Southside. She has served in that capacity since.

Many of her family members are Ministers of Music and Worship Leaders, including her father. Raised in Crowville, Louisiana and reared in a traditional Southern Baptist home, Melissa grew up surrounded by music. The members of Southside Baptist Church are blessed to receive the benefit of her musical heritage. Her very nature is one of a servant of God. She is sensitive to His Spirit and seeks His guidance for our church. When she leads worship, she is the lead worshiper; this is what makes our Worship Services so special.

Dawn is our Director of Children's Ministries. Her responsibilities include administration of all Children's Ministry programs for infants through fifth grade, recruiting volunteer workers for children's programming, assisting with planning and conducting special activities and project such as VBS camps and fellowships, and assessing and recommending program curriculum.

Dawn and her husband Wayne have been married for fifteen years and they have three children Heather, Gregory, and Candice. Dawn was born and raised in the small town of Shepherd, Texas and moved to Lufkin fifteen years ago.

Dawn has a love for working with children. She has been privileged to work with children here at Southside, and enjoys every new adventure. She loves to help the children to grow in their relationship with Jesus. Dawn works also as a dental assistant and loves to work with the children there as well. Her favorite things to do are hang out with family and watch her daughter at swim meets.

Steven is our Director of Technical Ministries. He is responsible for the technology and media related needs for the church, including overseeing our Media Team that runs our audio/video production during services and evaluating and implementing new technologies. This is a major part of Southside providing an informative and inviting environment for Worship. He is also our website designer.

Steven is married to Ronda, our resident Drama Ministry Leader, a.k.a. Drama Queen. They have two children, Erin and Asher and a beautiful Great Dane named Belle.

Steven is a local boy from Diboll and the son of a retired pastor, but don't hold those things against him. He also works as a Desktop Support Specialist for a local company and loves woodworking, watching the Dallas Cowboys and spending time with his wife and kids. Steven has a passion for technology and loves to find creative ways to use it to help the Church be more effective and relevant in a rapidly changing world.
